A word from Aileen, founder:
βLittle Free Contentious Library is excited to partner with Read for Unity. The partnership will help to establish two new locations within underserved communities in Georgia and sustain their inventory. We hope to spark conversations around educational equity and the importance of representation in the face of the ongoing book bans.β
Little Free Contentious Library, as of today, has provided the public over 1,400 banned books. We have libraries in Georgia and Tennessee and will add three more states by June (Louisiana, Florida and Texas.).
Our year end goal - Through further expansion into the Southeast, story-time events, and a multi-state, banned bookmobile tour, we hope to provide 10,000 books to the public, free of charge.
